Is Part Time or Seasonal Driving Possible?

I have a full-time job that pays a little over $100K per year and I get about 3 months off per year. It's a good job and I go to work all preppy every day. Well, I've always been attracted to the trucking industry and wonder if I could ever work on a seasonal / part time basis. My interest is based on me wanting to get some experience and also to make even more $$ on my time off of my main job.

I look forward to knowing what the possibilities are.

100k and three months off!! I'm shure there are plenty of drivers who would switch with you lol.

 

If I had a job that paid me well, and gave me lots of time off to go

1. Travel to the Philippines or Thailand
2. Deep sea fishing
3. Be a hired mercenary on cargo ships and blow Somali’s in speedboats out of the water
4. Go on really long motorcycle trips

I would instead go find another job and grind it out. Go look for work at a temp company and drive when you want to.

 

You must be a school teacher or university professor.
As @TripleSix posted; attend a cdl school, then hire on with a temp agency that uses cdl drivers. This way you work when you want to.

Get your CDL, get a job, then quit in a couple months. The people who are going to hire you as a newb won’t care that you are quitting, they are used to it.

 

Why would someone with no interest in driving a truck be on a trucking forum?
