Husband has usually stayed out 3mo or so, it takes off a lot of mileage if you go home all the time and is hard to recoup in the long run. If you have kids at home and a wife or girlfriend, this maybe hard to do, ours are grown and we have grandkids, the 5 yr old was a week old when I went with hubby when at US X, then he was 3mo old, then 6 mo, etc. So it boils down o what you need. Pay while in training at Prime is a lot better, it is $600.00 when out with a trainer. I am not sure what the start pay for miles are after upgrade, husband was experienced so he started out at higher amount. CRE is the one to stay away from, been there, done that for him. They are out to use and abuse you from the get go. Too bad because they have ruined their own reputation for something that could have been a good company.
All I'm going to ask before you go jumping aboard some big companies ship is, did you go around and knock on any doors of the local smaller companies close to home?
I don't think Prime is a horrible company. From what i've heard you'll be treated well. However, get used to being passed constantly, they're one of the slowest on the road.
Company trucks are limited to 58 on the pedal, and 62 on cruise control. There is up to a 6-cpm fuel bonus paid weekly for progressively exceeding 7.25 mpg. It adds up. Most folks would rather have the dead presidents in their back pocket, than count how many Swift and Roehl trucks they pass.
Out of the ones you just said I would pick TMC in a heartbeat. But hey im a flatbedder and would only do that. Sorry box pullers just cant do it.
yea i have but they all say i need a year of experience thats why i have to go OTR first but im gonna team up with my friend and go in as a team with schieder prime wants you to go into there lease program which i would never do cause if the truck breaks down thats a week if money i could be losing
