Is putting snow chains on a small car the same as on a CMV?

I'll add my 1 cent in. I've thrown iron more than I'd like to remember. At chain up areas I park my truck at an angle trailer towards traffic. They will hit the trailer before they hit you, copy. Carry 2 cam keys! Hang your iron so it's ready to throw on the truck. Carry some rubber gloves with inserts to keep your hands warm. Chain before you need too. Nothing ruins a good day like spinning out and putting yourself in a bind. I'd rather drive around those knuckleheads chained up already, roger.
For those jobs that require off road during Winter well just try and forget those days. Organized means fast & fast means your back in that cab sooner. That's good motivation.

Dont u know ur sposed to just sit in the truckstop til it stops snowing, while #####ing and moaning about the snow. And then call every truck driver that goes to work in it, they are nothing but supertruckers and will die in a fiery crash with a van full orphaned nuns

Old school didn't stop for snowflakes. That's how I kept working. No one else was stupid enough to haul logs in the Winter. Yeah that's the road in the bottom of the Canyon. But you know these things tidbit. ;)

A few years ago at Sapp Bros I noticed they were selling these things like socks you can use on your truck in lieu of snow chains. They looked really #### dumb, but have any of you ever tried them?

Jeez... That's a lot of chains... Yeah, my truck don’t have that, and I don't have a headrack at the back of my truck either so I was just wondering. I have some chains but I haven't taking them out of the bag yet.

I have tried them but they are junk. They only work in perfect conditions. Fluffy snowpack. They dont work on ice, they will rip apart if road has bare spots... Not to mention it is fabric so they will stay wet for days with no way to air them out... Cables are the way to go for otr drivers

Why’s everyone so scared of chains? Like @Arctic_fox I chained multiple times a day in the oilfield in western ND for 15 years. You get a rhythm and organized. Get used to throwing triples on, then singles are an absolute breeze. When everyone is sniveling about the snowflakes falling, I’ll be going over the hill with less traffic in my way and listening to the music of chains going through the snow:D:D:cool::cool:
