as far as i know, the new 15 liter is not out yet on the prostars, its a cat motor with new air and fuel system from mann, the frieght shakers have water coming in them, the cheap volvo have wiring problems, you can read the info in the other forum in the (garage truck) section, transam did a test run on those t-660 with the 13 liter paccar engine, the kemworth are top of the line not cheap, 10 grand more, you get what you pay for, look at swift, volvo's, i know you drivers like the R.V. CAMPER, but for a truck you need a PACCAR, so lose the weight, your'l be fine, see you at the truck show in louisville,ky APRIL 1,2011

the kw is a nice trk, but paccar keeps using a out dated narrow cab design from the fifties and sixties. kw finally got smart and came out with the T-700 and peterbuilt has the 387 i believe,to compete with the prostars and the cascadias. I also doubt these companies are paying 10,000 more just for a kw or a pete. class 8 trk sales have been way down and these manufacturers are making big time deals to move these trucks.

trans-am and roehl and others are buying these T-660 trucks based
on special multiple trk price quotes and its obvious that paccar is dealing.
I talked to a roehl driver that was driving a new T-660 and asked him about the cab. this guy was about 5'9 maybe 5'11 and 185 to 200 and he shook his head and said SMALL VERY SMALL ! said he missed his IH 9400.
I laughed and said well guess I hope I dont get stuck with one being
6'6 AND 350 LBS . I can work on losing the weight , but the leg reduction surgery is out of question ! :biggrin_2554:

I sware almost every cons I d&h at lately all have something broken on the trailer. It would be nice if people would actually get these trailers fixed before dropping them off. And when you do a trailer walk around charge the air system and listen for leaks.

I've always thought that too. If I'm not too busy at my new company I've asked maintenance to forward me a list of trailers that have unreported issues when drivers pick them up. I want to call the driver that dropped the trailers and see what the deal is. Hopefully they'll get the message that they're wasting another drivers time and I'll throw in the CSA points for not being able to pass inspection on trailer since the damage probably didn't occur at the moment they dropped the trailer at the customer.

Yeah its getting horrible lately just d&h today and got 3 bad recaps. Its like how the hell can anyone not see this? I don't wanna be that guy to call in on others but its really being a pain lately. I don't see why someone would stay with a company for long after dealing with broken trailers all the time. But I've been around a while atleast my truck doesn't go in the shop every week like others. So broken trailers don't bother me much. The last trailer I had the airlines fixed on they got very lucky emergency line was almost broke off so it coulda just locked up on them going down the road.

Its not just Roehl, its the LAZY mentality of most people nowadays... leave it for someone else... but I bet when the same knob picks up one like that he screams and stomps to his FM for having to do someone elses job... welcome to trucking...

I wasn't trying to say it was just Roehl, more that this seems to be the norm for Roehl now. We've had the same problem with picking up way to many preloads and there is something wrong with the trailer. It wasn't always this way.

Might be time to bring that issue up with management. Let them know that you're sick and tired of picking up crap trailers. With CSA looming it would be wise to crack down on drivers that are failing to do inspections and drivers that push their problems onto others. I think it would be good for the FM's to do, (especially since I'm not an FM anymore)
