I think alot of guys would park in the winter and use the APU rather than worry about having someplace to plug the truck in. I have parked, and forgot to shut it off, and had to run back out to the truck and shut it down. As far as one bunk goes, I'll just get a cot and they can set it up on the catwalk at night...

    Lol.
I always left my apu run when I was home. Unable to plug the truck in. Who knows where I would have had to park. Prolly mogadore. Would not have liked that. Lol
Well no worries bout that now. Got a place to park right downtown in erie. Should be fun.

I can't imagine running null mode uses that much fuel. It's the lowest setting. I don't have a plug in either, it's null mode this winter or driving up to the truck stop a few times while I'm home.

You know I planned to run up to the trick too, but didn't and things were fine. I just unplugged stuff in the truck and it all worked out fine. I nulled it anytime I parked. Unless I was headed back the next day. No sense roasting when I got to the truck. Lol

When you have the APU on but not the heat, cool etc. Push your mode selector until the light doesn't show on anything (between cool and heat) then turn APU on. It basically makes the APU kick on when your battery gets below a certain voltage for in the extreme winter cold it keeps the battery charged). Oh and I think you put the temp setting all the way down to 50 too. Not sure if that matters since it won't kick on temp control anyway. Also called "Using my microwave" mode.

It will also keep the coolant warm also in winter, I am not sure what temp it is set to come on at, but when it drops below the preset temp, it starts and warms the coolant.
