Haha you got me. But that picture I made looks 100% like it. I knew I should of taken a picture. I've seen the tracking systems though little black / grey boxes on the inside or outside with that solar panel thing. pretty neat how its set up.

I would guess its for the tracking, but you know roehl won't turn it on until 2020 when they get the gps and in truck scanning hooked up... lol
better start sweeping out your trailers... lol

One of my trailers had what Lantern posted. Looking at it, my first thought it was a camera.

I thought if it was...maybe to document freight damage claims due how it was loaded...but a tracking devise sounds more plausible.

I was told a few months ago that the trailers were getting GPS tracking systems that are solar powered. They also have sensors that can tell if the trailer is loaded or empty.

Lately I've been told by dispatch what trailer to pick up.

Once I got to a customer to get an empty. I hooked to the empty and sure enough, it was a loaded trailer. I called dispatch and they said they wanted me to go around the customer's yard and write down all the Roehl trailer numbers and if their loaded or empty. After an hour they told me which one to get lol

They did this to me at a place in the York Pa area. I pushing on my hrs to get the load. I told em to take the load off cuz I was going to get stuck here. I also asked if they were paying me extra for this. No one liked that question, but needless to say I did not do a yard check and was rolling 15 minutes later...
never had em tell me what mt I was to pick up other then an old one they were getting rid of.
