Got the new Turbo put in this morning. Hit the road and not 20 miles from the terminal it started doing the same thing. Speedo died and engine started losing power and bucking.

Took it back to the shop, got my appt for my load home rescheduled and they put me in a loaner truck. A 2011 cascadia. It rides nice and shifts so smooth.

I'm on my way to groveland, FL then home!!!

Delivered this morning and went to sleep. Turns out my loaner truck was supposed to go to a different driver. So he's on his way to trade trucks with me.

Also, dispatch told me ill be getting out of my 160,000 mile '07 and into a 2012 truck. Don't know if its a cascadia or pro star.

Update on my truck, the mechanic said something about the vpod may need to be replaced. Anyone know what that is? I'm assuming it controls my Turbo?

Googled it lol. Found out what it was. That would explain the bucking and surging without any black smoke from the exhaust

The truck I traded the guy for us a ruined '07 Columbia. The inside looks like a bomb went off.

Oh and it has one of those drive smart cameras in it. Anyone know if the camera is on 24/7?

Vpod from what i read, controls the vanes in the Turbo and how much pressure the Turbo produces.

The camera is in the middle of the windshield at the top. Its got a camera facing you and one facing the front. My dispatcher told me all the new trucks will have that plus the vorad/Bendix system.

My dispatcher said the camera only comes on in a hard breaking event or excessive speed event.
BUT according to the FAQ's on the systems website, it records 30 seconds of video, if no events such as mentioned above happen then the video is erased*.

If there is an event, then the video is reviewed by the people who run the system and they decide if it needs to be sent to the company, in this case Roehl, and let them decide what they want to do. The system is setup initially to record only when the engine is running it the key is in the "on" position in the ignition.

The system also records for a certain amount of time after the ignition has been turned off, then after that time the system will shutdown.

*- The videos are erased but only from the main hard drive, they get sent to an auxiliary hard drive for a certain time period. Which in that time period the company paying for the rights to review the video can actually go in and review the video whenever they want in that time frame. Whether an event happened or not.

Heard a driver trainer in Marshfield a while back talking about the Camera. They wanted to put one in his truck. He told them, "sure, but you will see me driving in my underwear from the moment you put it in my truck." He said they changed their mind. Trucker story or not it's not a bad idea. :biggrin_25522:
