So, they send me a pre plan and i call and ask about the mile difference. They told me, yeah, its 90 miles from Columbia. I said I'm at the terminal in ellenwood. I never took that load.

So after I explain I got a load cancellation and i thought that relay was off me, well it wasn't. So they tell me to take the load up there anyway. Its 1440 and my eta is 1830.

So to make sure my directions were right, I call the customer. They tell me they stop receiving at 1600 and ill have to wait till Monday. So I call dispatch back and tell them. Now she's trying to find out what they wanna do.

I hate when they throw loads on me that I never accepted, then get mad when i don't take the load. I never accepted it, don't think you're going to throw me a load and that's it. I didn't accept it, I'm not taking it. There was no way i would have made it on time.

So, because I called the customer, I saved myself from having to drive 3 hours and then turn around and drive right back to the terminal. This miscommunication is happening a lot more

So either your 1.) FM didn't write any notes about your issue or 2.) the planner didn't read them and you were still on the load, or 3.) the weekend planner/FM didn't read your issues and has no clue what's going on.

    I'll take a combination of 1 & 2 with a full helping of 3!:biggrin_2559:

you could also get the # for your FM's manager and keep him in the loop if problems keep happening.

My dispatcher has been out of town. I think he went to the banquet in marshfield. Like I told night dispatch i couldn't do that load that night, they cancelled it. Then morning Dispatch send it to me anyway. Idk, this isn't the first but the 4th time this has happened. Literally the 4th. They throw a load to me knowing i can't make it on time anyway

Exactly, if my FM gets back and asks about it and they try saying its a service failure, guess what, I never accepted the load. I was told to take it even though id be late. That exact situation has happened multiple times and night/weekend dispatch didn't leave any notes for my FM so he calls me asking why I'm late and what's going on.

I will say my dispatcher does do what he can to correct their mistakes. I told him last time I came out of the house I want it to be on a week day so he sends me a load. He told me he knows exactly why haha.

PS. This new loaner truck I'm in, the automatic, is horrible. I love the truck, but the automatic trans is hard to get uses to, and the engine brake on the Mercedes engine is gutless. I don't even use it now, it helps none what so ever. I'm just happy to be out of that camera truck.

just make sure its all in the QC....generally when I QC the fact that I can't possibly take a load (the Preplan appointment time is impossible to make with a 60MPH truck or I don't have hours) I QC those facts...then the load comes off pretty quick....but then again my FM is out of Marshfield so he has a little more leeway I am thinking...that and I have been planned on loads where I would have to do 75mph just to make the appt time:biggrin_2555:......hell I have had one where I would need the Delorian to make the time cause the Pick up time was AFTER the delivery time....:biggrin_25521::biggrin_25513: If I even think I am going to be late before I pick up the load I let them know...I do my math when the times are tight at about 55 MPH...if I can't make it at that I start biznitching and reminding them I only have a 60 mph truck...
