I understand the steps haha. I am merely saying that our current set of trailers require it. I haven't got to experience the new trailers yet and if they are anything like the 65xxx series trailers we have then they are going to be useless after a couple of years.

Also DirtyDiesel, I am glad you like it man! That fridge and APU is nice!! Hopefully I'll see you again soon sir, now that you have a blue truck I guess you won't be hard to miss.

Yeah definitely. I noticed other roehl drivers don't wave anymore on the highway. They don't notice its a roehl truck lol.

Just had one of the new 65 trailers with the button. Didn't have to push the button in to set the pins. Just had to release the trailer brake and pull forward or back to lock pins in place. This trailer was so new the water was still beading on the sides from the rain and the smell of paint just about knocked me out.

you guys with trailer brakes have it easy.

i have a 2012 tractor set up for flat, without a trailer handbrake. to slide the tandems on our decrepit curtainsides i have to get creative with dunnage or just get up to speed and pull the red button.

Those new 65 trailers won't allow you to use the trick of using a trolley brake. As soon as you release the trailer brake the tandem button pops back in.

Same here but keep looking every once in a while you will get suprised when some of the more observant drivers notice you and wave.

I don't think it necessarily was a camera, if I remember correctly it was just a box (about the size of a dash-mounted satellite radio) that had a meter (sorta like a signal meter) and the meter was green, yellow, and red. when your foot wasn't on the gas the meter would be at the lowest bar and green. as u pushed on the gas pedal the meter would rise from yellow to red when you had ur foot all the way on the floor. to the right of the meter would be the MPG reading and ifyou held ur foot on the floor u could ur MPG goin down and if u let up and sorta drove half pedal u could the MPG's come back up. I think was installed for the driver to help see how driving with ur foot to the floor hurt ur chances of making the proper MPG so you could get your bonus for that quarter. (not sure if they even give bonuses for fuel mileage anymore?) I'm hoping one of the ol' Roehl hands remembers that box cause I bought an 07 freightliner (same specs different color) and I can't find one those boxes anywhere. I even called Roehl's shop to see if one of the mechanics remembered them and they didn't know. I'm guessing I got the new guy LOL!:biggrin_255: Any help would be greatly appreciated as to what that stupid lil box was called.

I apologize to the OP, I'm not trying to hijack the thread about my stupid box, but it seems Roehl was one the only carriers trying this equipment. :biggrin_25514:

It was a camera. It wasn't a box. You could see the lens and everything. I was even told it was a camera. Trust me, I looked up the website and everything.
