If I was going O/O I'd deff buy my own truck. You lease one of roehls Columbus's at 400$ a week. Contract (from my understanding is 4 years) that's about 43k-45k paid just for the truck and to not come out of the lease with it.. Just not worth it. But who knows maybe my logic is wrong.
I have thought about going O/O I just don't think it's wise to make a decision this early for myself.DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
1. Pete 389 glider with an n14 or a 3406b
2. Mack chn613
3. Kenworth t660
The Pete would have a 63" flat top sleeper, fridge, apu, and 6" straight cut stacks

where exactly do you plan to put a fridge in a flat top? lol and what are you planning on pulling with it? if your planning on pulling a van/reefer you'll be throwing money out the window on fuel with all that air hitting the front of the trailer.

Looking into step deck or regular flat.

Freightliner was bottom on my list until I started dealing with fuel economy and repairs. Whether it's a radiator or starter I'm finding the Freightliners are money makers. It's not a Rolls, but it stays on the road and makes money. I'm not sure now that I want the other trucks, especially the Prostars.

Freightliners are on the bottom of my list. Every single freightliner I've been in has had problems. Even this new truck I have has a MAJOR problem that two freightliner dealerships couldnt figure out. 2 days in Wausau, WI and 6 days in Jacksonville, FL.
Freightliner didn't even send a rep out when both shops couldn't figure it out.. And it's not a minor thing, when I hit my brakes the truck changes lanes basically. It's extremely dangerous, and I'm having to drive it. Though, if this problem wasn't here and had this big of a pain to fix, this truck would of set freightliner to the top of my list. Comfort wise I love it, engine wise I love it. But if the mechanics tried (and I'm being serious) 18 Pages of things to try then there's a issue.
New brake drums, shoes, chambers, tires, airlines, rims, s cam, you name it. Can you explain to me why a rep from freightliner didn't come out? When Wausau had one come out for some ones AC?DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
If you went to Truck Country no wonder they couldn't fix it. I wouldn't trust them to fill a tire. Have you been to the Appleton terminal? I have had good results from Stoops in Indiana and Truck Centers in Illinois.
