Well he was having some 11/14/70 issues as well as qualcomm i believe, so once he gets that right he should do better.
Is Schneider a good company to work for?

Well the problem was that he wasnt getting his hometime so him coming home a lot is obviously not the issue. We've never seen a check at or over $500. We are waiting to see what this weeks check will look like as they gave him longer runs where he has been doing a gazillion short hops a week. His pay just really sucks. He gets 10 cpm and 16 cpm per diem. Plus a geographical premium of like 1 cpm. On his short hops they seem to give him an extra $25 per day when he has like 4 loads in dallas in one day. He runs a lot back and forth from Brookhaven to Laredo. Laredo seems to be his hot spot. Hopefully after Christmas he can go longhaul. It has to get better right?

He should get off the per diem as soon as possible. I believe the company also takes 2 cpm for him to be on it and he's losing out on social security money cuz the company only matches the non per diem pay and also on worker's comp if he gets hurt it will be less due to they go off taxable income. and if he goes to get a loan his w2's will show less due to per diem, besides the gov't gives a driver 59.00 a day for every day your away from home where as schneider only pays it on the miles he runs so if he's gone 6 days that's 354.00 from irs at end of year and at .16 per mile thats 2200 plus miles he has to run to get the same so if he sits he loses money because he cant claim the 59 at end of year if he's on per diem.
-
not to mention he can claim the 59.00 on the days he sits and does a restart too. well it's like 70% of 59.00 you know the irs has to do chinese math

no schneider charges 2cpm as a fee. I'd rather claim it myself because say your broke down away from home, schneider pays you no per diem but you would normally be eligible under irs rules since your away from home. But since you're on a per diem you can't claim it. Also all the per diem does by taking per diem pay is keep the company from matching contributions to your social security, taxes, and so forth. If someone wants to do per diem more power to them, I just hope they realize it is not something the company gives you it's an IRS rule. and you pay the company for a free rule from the IRS. If a company is doing it you can bet it's to benefit the company more than the employee. The 2cpm is a fee you pay the company so they are profiting again off the driver.

yeah, I'll be opting out at the end of three months.
Understanding correctly, right now I'm told its a .12cpm perdiem in addition to a .02cpm loss on actual cpm without per diem? Totaling .14cpm that taxes arent paid on?
For my bracket , this IS only benefiting the company. Would rather pay for a good trucker accountant to file for me. -
Me and the wife have always used an accountant stay away from H&R and the likes. Our accountant advised us it is never a benefit to the driver if a company charges for the program. But companies push it on drivers, so driver's should realize that it's a bigger benefit for the companies.

Whats the procees to request my elogs then? Given the location stamps it makes it easier on an accountant to get the most out of deductions available doesnt it?
