been away a while and want to get back at it . i've decided on the stryker sr-955 hpc+ . i've been watching Scott's videos and he seems reasonable and he has REAL equipment to test stuff so i'll be going with his "mars/alignment/tune up" .
is there someone y'all would recommend instead ? or should i be good to go with Scott ?
is "Scott's Radios" good to get a radio from ?

It puts out up to 100 watts or so on high, has great receive. Some people tell me it sounds like it has a high fidelity almost studio type sound. I've been very pleased so far.Oxbow, Walk Among Us and BOOTYMONSTER Thank this. -
very good to know ! always been a fan of clean . what mic are you running ? i'm thinking of trying a d104m6b . i've got a 20ish year old 10k , but i'm really don't wanna drop the head liner and drill a hole . thinking of the stryker magmount to KISS .

Rooster did a mic test on YouTube with a stryker and most of them worked well including the SRA 198. As far as antennas I use a skipshooter but I have a 10k too.

While I have miniscule aptitude in this arena relative to @High Stepper , I too purchased a radio from Scott's. An Anytone Ares I I, and he produced a short video of what he did to mine as well, though most is Greek to me.
The radio works as promised and exceeds my expectations, and he never once said "back to the bench".BOOTYMONSTER and High Stepper Thank this.
