I started out with Werner also last October, and it really is what you make it. You will have good weeks, where they will send you driving every day. Then there will be days that you will sit a lot, which was the case for me around Christmas and New Years. I have always tried to be polite and respectful to my Fleet Manager and everyone at Dispatch who answers the phone, and I'm sure at some level they do appreciate that. I can always tell when I call them up, and one of them is having a bad day by the tone of their voice. Sometimes Winter road conditions will also cause you to sit, as there will be an excessive amount of ice and snow on the ground and it's generally not safe to drive if you don't have the experience in it. That will also cut down on your miles, but I'm still waiting on warmer weather so that it won't be so bad.

Like others have said, it doesn't matter what company you start with. Just pick one and try to stick with it, I liked the idea of being home every day so I got something local. Maybe eventually I'll meet a nice lady and have a family, who knows? You can do whatever you want with yourself, and Werner does have several options for new drivers. The pay won't be that great, but you will get the experience that's needed to move on to another company. I hope you try to look at the bright side of it, whatever decision you choose to make. :biggrin_255:

Hey scuba, I'm getting set to go to LCTI in Schnecksville PA. Since your fromPA I was hoping you could give me some advice about where to look for a job since I want to stay local. I realize the local jobs for newbies are few and far between, but any info you got would be much apreciated. Thanks
