Even with your CDL its going to be very hard to get a local job without otr experience. Stevens is a good place to "pay your dues" as long as you can survive on the pay...

sure those are where the meat processing places are kansas, iowa, nebraska,n carolina and arkansas to mention a few lots of beef, pork, and chicken products.in my experience its where you sit for many many hours and or days waiting on loads. its around 60 percent of what you haul working for stevens. Also not the most pleasent smelling places either.

The meat patch is a processing plant located typically in the Midwest. Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and Texas are the biggest. When we refer to the patch it's any processing plant where chicken, beef or pork is turned from breathing to packaged ready for consumption. It's a smell you won't soon forget.

I have been reading alot about Stevens and am real impressed with the company. I have a Oklahoma State cdl already and am planning on going with Stevens my self. It has been 4 years sense I last drove a truck and will have go back through the schooling again. Will I still have to change my OK cdl to TX. or would I be able to stick with my OK cdl? Thanks for all of your info. you have been giving us.

you will not be required to change your license. Your license is valid.
the 'refresher' course is the same as the original CDL course, except you don't test out for your license.

    isbrob2 and Dieselten77 Thank this.
