Very often my GPS tries to send me on a different route.
And very often when I follow Swift's fuel route I save both time and miles.

Sometimes not, as when Swift is trying to avoid tolls.

I always look where the fuel stop is and how much fuel I have, I know sometimes my load might be 600 miles and the fuel stop is at 450 miles for a fill up but I have half a tank left and the fuel stop adds a few miles then I will skip the fuel stop and go straight to destination then catch a fuel stop on the next dispatch. Or sometimes I might have a load that is 500 miles and the fuel stop is 25 miles from the final, just seems a bit stupid to get the fuel at the end and I like to keep my tank a little lower just in case I get one of those heavy loads.

Honestly fuel stops don't bother me at all. There are some fuel stops I won't go to at all, unless its like 0200. For example pilot in Atlanta Georgia no way the one in Birmingham Alabama ext 125 nope won't go. I just skip it and say I need a new fuel route that the so in so truck stop comdata was down.

I got "Plus 1'ed" today. Accepted a load with ample time for pick up and delivery. Delivered my last load, then get my load assignment...

.... along with messages that the pick up time has been delayed and the delivery schedule was moved up, basically shortening the time frame for getting the load to destination.

So I send a QC message replying to the delivery adjustment, noting this is not the time frame I agreed to when I accepted the load. No response.

Today I call dispatch and he admitted the time adjustments were automated by the "Plus 1" program and there is MORE than ample time to get the load delivered. I didn't get the impression that my dispatcher was "feeling the love" for the whole Plus 1 program.

What exactly DOES "Plus 1" mean?

    Plus One... load cancelled :D :D :D

Now I'm waiting for a new dispatch/adventure.... thankfully that load cancellation came in just before I got the wheels (and my 14) turning.

When it changes my delivery time I send a Mac22 right when I pick it up, before I even leave the shipper.
The reason is - 'that is the time I agreed to deliver it when I accepted the plan'.

if you started a pretrip but never moved the truck you can go back in and edit the log to stop your 14 from ticking. My DL had me do that one day when my load got all screwed up and during my pre trip I found out a guy was on their way to repower me, he said just edit and my 14 clock will cancel since I never drove.
