Inver Grove is filled with the new trailers.
In fact, every terminal I've been to lately has them hip deep.

I wonder how long it will take to deploy them.
Then we can, hopefully, get rid of the MS and T crap trailers, as well as some 5 series.

would be nice, we have a ton of the 5 series, the t series is supposed to be for UPS which I have hauled a few of to the UPS lots. They also get the 99 series.

99 are refurbed t trailers. T trailers aren't for UPS per se ... It's that UPS doesn't require duraplate, so we dump all our t trailers on them very year.

oh ok, well I know UPS will take pretty much any type of trailer

Same when going to a Frito Lay, they seem to accept anything rather its a roll door, swing door, duraplate etc.

We have one customer that will now flat refuse t-trailers and MS trailers, owns corning. You can bring it in, but it will just sit there. Saw a new roll door the other day at Owens and it will sit there until someone comes and gets it.

I'll be happy to see some of those old trailers retired. I've been noticing a gradual upgrade in trailer quality the last couple of months, although that could just be variance of "luck" on my own part. Seems like in the last couple of weeks I've only had to break out the vice grips a couple of times to move the tandems and haven't had any of those trailers with the severely bent pin bars.

I remember a couple months ago I got a fleet message saying how if we see a defective trailer in a customer's yard, then we should pick it up and take it to a terminal for repair. I went off on a reply on the QC because I a weekend DM said I shouldn't have done that because it "was a waste of time". True that, but ultimately the customer suffers and the next Swift driver would definitely suffer if they had to pull a trailer that might have been trouble.

I even had a bad experience with an MS trailer when I drove for Roehl. Spent about an hour helping a Swift driver slide the tandems at a P&G facility in Georgia. Absolute piece of garbage. Not going to lie, been dreading running into them since I made the decision to come here but glad to hear they are being phased out.
