I see a lot of companies offering much more to drivers than swift does.
Also seeing better equipment, newer trailers etc.
I've been with swift 1.2 years now, no real improvements and 80% of the trailers I get are 10+years old or older, had a 99 trailer last week.
Any thoughts?
Is swift going downhill? Losing momentum?

Trailers are luck of the draw lately been getting Brand New trailers only used a few times, to bad everytime I get 1 i never keep it long I do a drop n hook and get old one, MS Carries seem like the real junk only have had 2 in the 7 months I been with Swift, as for trucks there's tons of new trucks, my mentor had a 2012 a Vovlo with the Bose seat and a few months back Laredo had lines of brand new trucks with plastic still on seats.

Swift just posted better then expected profit margins a month or two ago. I think you just having back luck with equipment and it might just be the area your in. In Phoenix there's lines of brand new Volvo's and cascadia's. I do believe they are having a bit of a driver shortage at the moment right now. Alot of talk about swift calling people who have quit and asking them to come back and there's plenty of road ready unseated trucks in phx besides all the new shiny ones.

Hubby has a newer truck. Its a good one!

I've been here about 1.3 years.
I am now driving a 2013 Volvo.
Sure, the living space is a bit little - but, it is a new truck.
(yup, got it in Phoenix)
Trailer's?
There are old and new, and in-between.
You take what you can get - or find.
But I have had 5 series that were better than 11 or 12 series.
I have have had MS trailers that were better than any of them.
If you have a dodgy trailer you only have 2 options.
1. Run with it.
2. Get it to a shop. -
Heck, saw a Swift trailer today with aluminum wheels and super singles

I'm currently hooked to a 02/12 trailer running to San bernardino, still has the Bol on it, had a great Dane swift trailer a few weeks ago, trailers are hit and miss

To be honest I have run some old M.S. Carriers trailers and they have pulled better then the newer swift trailers, I will pick the old miscarries trailers because I see them all bunched up in the back of a yard, or one of the few Mt's available. I make sure I do my part to keep them old M.S. Carriers trailers moving around the country.
