I don't understand why you would want to limit yourself to such a short week. When I have a week of 10-12 hour days, I'm rolling in the "dough" and loving it.
If I have a 40 hour week, I'm getting worried if my pay cheque is going to be big enough to cover expenses. Trucking isn't a 9-5 job, and expecting to find one is just going to keep you away from the truly rewarding aspects of this career.
Is the beverage side of trucking the only one that allows a "normal" work schedule??

(Solid rip, btw, Jim.)SHOJim and street beater Thank this. -
I'd rather be with a good woman every night than a pile of #### Freightliner for three weeks at a time.
My apologies if that were.... acrimonious.... If you're single and just want to make money, OTR is great. I'd you have friends, and a good woman... Well, get ready to kiss that goodbye.
Yeah. I'm ####ing bitter.

Trucking is a great way to make 60K a year - but you aren't gonna do it working 40 hours a week. The vast majority of truckers work 60 to 70 hours a week. You could work 70 hours week at almost ANY job in the United States and make 50 or 60 k a year though, nothing special about that. Go to school and be an RN they make 70k a year for working 36 hours a week, work 3 days a week, off 4 days a week - sweetest job around.
kanidana Thanks this.
