I am not lazy. I resent that thought.
If you consider essentially every place you can stick a big rig in cold storage all over the blessed NE and every #### one of them touched their stuff from my trailer to their dock and sometimes loaded to the floor for them back in the day.
I had a semi horrible day today and a semi motivating one. It's done and sealed. Resting at moment.
When things get tough Truckers toss Chains on.
Is the driver pay as horrible as Tim-the-Trucker on YouTube

I watched quite a few trucker YouTubers while going through cdl school, to try and get a feel for what I was getting into.
I didn't think about it at the time, but it's pretty ballsy of some of these guys to put themselves out there publicly like that on video. I'm careful on this forum not to reveal to much, and that's only because I ##### on here every once in a while to let off some steam (got to have an outlet lol).
But these guys are going into full on weekly or daily rants on camera while they're still employed.
Some of these guys are real shister's too. Red Viking Trucker, I watched him in 2018 and he had only 2 years experience in the business. The word online was that he was charging people for "consultation services" for people who were looking to break into the industry.
And apparently people were paying him for it. When I realized that, I quit watching him, but I felt bad for the people who were paying for his "consultation services". Like ####, this is 2019, haven't they heard of Reddit or doing a google search related to trucking (that's how I ended up here)?
In response to OP, I don't have time to watch that video but - There are legitimate gripes about this industry. And there are definitely some real horrible companies with shady practices (HI CR ENGLAND, THEM WHEELS IS ROLLIN!!! Lol).
But, there's also a lot of good in this industry as well. I know trucking OTR has gotten me back on my feet financially and despite my occasional #####ing on here, I am truly grateful for being rewarded financially for the work that I've put in.
There's so many things I can do with this cdl license, that I really do feel like I have a golden ticket to at least some type of job in at least some part of this country, thanks to my cdl. I don't take that lightly.
Again, pros and cons like anything else. Luckily you can go to places like here or Reddit or Facebook groups or wherever and get a wide variety of responses to the pros and cons, so that you can make an educated decision about your journey in this industry.homeskillet, FlaSwampRat, dwells40 and 1 other person Thank this. -
You gotta talk to people to find the money.
You aren’t going to find a good job browsing Craigslist generally. It’s all word of mouth.
When you see a dude who is making money ask him to put you on, don’t be shy about chasing a good job. You spend too much of your life at work to work somewhere bad.Dave_in_AZ, TripleSix and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
This fella, here, folks... is what we old crusty hands feel that we CAN leave the industry to.
Bravo, Sir. You get it.LilRedRidingHood, TripleSix, FlaSwampRat and 1 other person Thank this. -

These drivers do regular 12-hour shifts during the week mostly? I expect the newbies will do the graveyard shifts? What all do you know about them? -
None of their drivers had negative remarks about the company; at least the one's I talked to.
