Don’t listen to the whiners ”emptiest can makes the most noise”. IF you going to keep trucking find a job that suits YOU and your lifestyle. You only go around once. As far as O/O route,,,do you want to be married to your truck? Trucks are more needy than the girlfriend your wife dont know about.

The only difference between a puppy and a truck driver is the puppy quits whining after 6 months

We even whine at MB. No matter how good we have it. It's just what drivers do.

There will always be people complaining, no matter what type of business. Trucking is not for everyone, but once you gain experience it is a well paying job. You will receive a lot of opinions, but ultimately the decision is yours.

Only reason to become an owner operator is if you can out earn vs being a company hand and can stomach the added risk for potential of more reward. Once you prove yourself as an excellent driver, more options will present themselves, and you'll have to decide if the potential to earn more is worth the commitment that comes with it. It is easier to get into than it is to get out. There is no shortage of people who bought a truck and drove it for 3 or 4 years only then realizing they would have done better driving for someone else. This industry is full of predators. There is no shame in being a good company driver earning anywhere 70-100k a year or more in some situations. All depends what you want to do.
