I'm a resident of Michigan, but am following my father to South Florida in July of this year. I was thinking of attending SAGE in Ft Pierce, but it says: "Certificate Program (320 hour) with proof of 1 year Florida residence - $4,725.60 Classes start every week." Does this mean that I need to live in Florida for 1 year before being able to graduate from SAGE? Also can I get hired to truck companies that hire from Florida even when I didn't live there for a year?
I don't want to wait a year doing nothing, and I'm not sure if I should apply to truck companies in Michigan and hired here first before moving to Florida.
Is there 1 year state residency requirement?

I would probably give the Secretary of State's office a call as well as SAGE to get definite answers.

i called them and they said i will be paying 2k more for tuition.

Its offered from a state college, most if not all colleges give discounts to in state residents. I wouldn't think it would matter to any company if you lived there a year.
Are there alot of companies hiring from south Florida? -
Northern Cuba Trucking Association has a list of companies hiring in that area.
They're in the phone book.
