Yes most are 48 feet except for northwest part of u s. Then you have 53 feet heavyhaul tankers...I would suggest getting at least a year in non hazardous tankers to make sure you like pulling them...cause if unbaffled you have to stop little before on slick roads because of surge..I am an experienced tanker driver
Is there a lot of tight backing with Hazmat tankers?

Yes to question 2.They pay the most because of added risk and difficulty in getting the endorsement.
Question 3. Generally 2 years is the minimum experience needed, but there are exceptions.
Question 4. You can park on private property wherever you get permission, at truck stops, at "safe havens", and anywhere where you apply the universal principal to "never ask permission; ask forgiveness".Prof.Gringo and Aarrons Thank this. -
In my experience loading is usually a pull thru
Lots of tight backing mostly at deliveries.
Lots of serpentine backs.
We have one customer that requires a blindside back off a tight alley thru a tight gate on to a scaleChinatown Thanks this.
