See that's the difference between those of us that are out here away from our families trying to maximize profits, and those who are doing whatever they want and calling it "good enough"
Is there a scientific chart showing how much fuel you save by going slower?

How much? About 7500 kilos more, last time I measured it. Maybe on Ohio Turnpike not as much. Or maybe not at all if you over 80 years old.
-
Nothing wrong with that

That's funny.jinxutoo001, Dave_in_AZ and wore out Thank this.

I guess you can do a monthly running average of the rates/fuel prices.
That way you account for the ever changing rates for any given period. -
Yeah, every time you click the fill up button, it'll give you an opportunity to change fuel cost & rate. That could screw up the overall trip profit figures (I never use), but at least while you're driving you can see what your making.jinxutoo001 and Scott72 Thank this.

I don't know yet.

I am legal. It is funny to me these guys that are in this industry never open their little green book and keep up on rules and regs.
I am legal and more efficient than any e-log. I am not out here as a outlaw or a lifestyle, this is a business to me and that is how I run it.
Alot of guys have been told "this is legal, this is not" they never educate themselves.
The guys out here that know how to problem solve will get it, the ones that can't or need a baby sitter will not. -
i'll give you my take on it
we (team) had a dedicated run (5 trucks) that ran for 4 months, laredo, tx to detroit, mi.
drop and hook on both ends, we all had loads waiting at both ends, all loads going north were 38,700 lb, loads going south were 10,000- 4,500.
of the 5 trucks we run the slowest at 63 mph, the rest ran faster 65-75 mph. the fastest truck would get 4 loads a week before they needed a 34 hr reset, we would get 4 loads a week before we needed a 34.... so they running faster got them no more loads than we did. all the loads paid the same BUT at the end of the week we had the biggest paycheckDave_in_AZ and jinxutoo001 Thank this. -
That's why all those RV delivery guys are obsessive about this stuff. They poke along at 62 mph all day and put a huge tank on the back so they can buy fuel where it's cheap. Otherwise those deliveries wouldn't show much of a profit margin.Pnwtrucker Thanks this.
