LOL, maybe, but let me tell you a story about my Factory Paccar Extended warranty:
Check engine light comes on. Take to dealer. Dealer says "loose wire" and calls it fixed.
Next month, "check engine light" comes on. Again, wire to the doser. Dealer tears into the wire harness, finds a pinch / short, fixes it, hands over $600 invoice.
I doth protest "I have the full exptended warranty, including the emissions".
Paccar agrees. But states "that part of the harness is a chassis part, not an emissions part or engine part ".
I kid you not. Screwed if you do, screwed if you don't. But I promise I won't buy another Paccar product.God prefers Diesels, xsetra and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Yeah that's what I have heard about them. Something like the camshaft is covered but not the cam bearing, and that's what caused the issue, so go pound sand with your claim.

I had a Detroit Diesel engines DD15. It had 600,000 miles parts and labor warranty. They did cazy amount of repairs on the engine. They took engine down to the block and put back together. All under warranty. It did not help anything for the downtime. Another time truck was at Detroit Diesel for more warranty work. The oil pump went out in their shop. They put new bearings in. I had lot of trouble with that 2011 engine but the warranty was good. Detroit Diesel had to lose money on all the warranty work they did. I lost money on all the downtime.

Just another reason to like Detroit.
Sorry for the down time, but it could have been much worse for you.Brandt Thanks this. -
Carmax offers a good warranty i always come up on them

Cummins offers a pretty good warranty. I think it was @Midwest Trucker that was talking about it.
God prefers Diesels Thanks this. -
Is there a single round of blackjack worth the bet? That's all a warranty is. It's a bet. Both for you and the warranty company. They bet on keeping all the money, and you bet on needing more repairs than the cost of said warranty.
God prefers Diesels Thanks this. -
Hitting on a 16 for example.
A dealer can not split or double down.
Your analogy is flawed.
It's difficult to play one on one with the dealer for very long.
But playing one on one usually leaves the player with the advantage. -
Unless its directly from the manufacturer its more than likely a waste.
God prefers Diesels and Hulld Thank this.
