Xtra has some dumb requirements when it comes to leasing their trailers such as needing multiple employees and your billing address has to be different than home address. If I am a safe insured driver/carrier with my own authority and passed all of FMCSA's hoop jumping that should be enough to rent a trailer for a short while. Any reasonable trailer rental companies out there that want more business or is it all run by people who love rules more than money? I called Premier too and they said they don't lease to owner ops. Also, before you tell me to get my own trailer it is nearly impossible to find a place to leave it where I live. As a power only its so nice to just go straight home after I'm done and I don't think I will want to change that any time soon.
Is there a trailer leasing company without Xtra's bs requirements?

Try Bowman trailer leasing, not sure were you are located but Boston trailer has decent rates from what I hear.
TruckRunner Thanks this. -
Why don't you buy a trailer?

I called Bowman they said you need at least five employees and two years authority. I have a better idea how about I have insurance and money as a requirement I am OK with that.RubyEagle, 77fib77 and Rideandrepair Thank this.

I stated it in my original topic.

I've got same democracy bs couple months ago with all that rental places. Applied to multiple companies, and most of them would have random reasons not to give me rental. While doing so I was doing power only loads, and ended up buying used trailer with money I made while looking to rent one. And I'm very glad I did it.

Yeah I know of a lot of cities where you can park or drop a trailer anywhere and no one cares. Other cities the snowflakes immediately call the police if they see a clean new truck or trailer parked out of the way behind an abandoned warehouse.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

OK I read that and wonder if you realize that leasing it does not mean you have access to parking lot and if you do put it there, you may not get that trailer on demand so you will still have to find a place to park it. Xtra (the same with Premier, Ryder and Compass) won't let me park a trailer I lease on their property, they say they are not responsible for damages and if there is cargo in it, my insurance company considers that an unsecured location and told me that they will not cover the damages.
By the way, you need to understand that leasing companies take losses with small companies.
The only one I know who may lease to you is Ryder.Midwest Trucker and TruckRunner Thank this. -
Tons of cheap trailers on Craigslist you can lease or rent from owners . Most are fairly reasonable.

Stoughton lease maybe?
Rideandrepair Thanks this.
