Is there a trailer leasing company without Xtra's bs requirements?

I like Xtra but maybe Ryder? They rented me a unit early on.

I leased a trailer from Prime leasing (fyi this is not the prime trucking company)

Kind of expensive at $700 a month but these are brand new trailers with no additional mileage rates and no charge on tire/brakes threads upon return.

They will even lease to O/O with 1 truck.

Only requirement is you list them as a policy holder.

Fyi they are based in Grand Rapids, MI so this may not help with your parking situation.

Message me if you need their contact info.

Hey, I don't know your particular financial situation but if you bought a trailer you can use Secure Truck & Trailer Parking Facilities-Nationwide Drop Yard Staging-Long Term Container Storage-US & Canada-Carrier Fleet Services-Terminal Exchange Services to park the trailer. They have tons of locations and hopefully one is near you. I pay about $200 a month to park a trailer there and most of the time you can park the tractor there. However you can't park a personal vehicle there (at least not the one local to me) so driver will need a ride to and from. Your mileage might vary or you might find cheaper alternatives but for the $200 a month I can't complain considering it'd cost me more to lease more lot space.

Oh and another reason why I have a problem with this, lets say I do have five employees. If I have a driver haul the trailer or myself for that matter, how is the risk lowered with that requirement? I can see if they had a 1000 truck minimum and only deal with corporations that can settle anything with cash under the table but it shouldn't matter if I have one or two or three employees.

Unfortunately, your peers that have come before you ruined it for the future people like yourself coming along.

I think it’s bs too, but businesses don’t limit their business for any which reason other then to protect themselves. Just the way it is.

Yes in time I learned a lot of the rules are due to idiots screwing things up for others. I wish there was another program (maybe I should create it) where drivers can be a part of to prove that they are not nasty inconsiderate idiots that trash the place, tear up equipment, know how to backup quickly and safely, don't cut other drivers off waiting in line, don't throw tantrums with the shipper, etc. That is what I liked about being a company driver. I had an impeccable rep that when a new dispatcher or manager came in they said they already knew not to worry about me based on what others said that I get the job done so I had a lot of freedom.

So I take it you’re looking to occasionally lease, because if long term parking would still be a problem. Wouldn’t it then need to be near home? Or are you looking to lease one for a few mos? Just wondering what the whole plan/ goal is.

Yes I am power only but some loads require a trailer so I would like to grab one use it then take it back when I return in a day or so.
