Is there some trick to easily opening the sleeper vent? When it is fully closed, I have to basically hammer it (usually with my increasingly bruised fist) to get it off the closed/center setting. Once it is open, it'll adjust easily enough from cracked to fully open, it is just getting it off that middle setting that seems like there should be an easier way.
This is on a freightliner Cascadia, although I've had the same issue with a 1990 freightliner cab-over too
Is there a trick to opening the sleeper vent?

How about putting something like WD-40 on it? -all of the contact points...
I used a Teflon type spray (DuPont Dry Lube) it opens and closes easily.
WD-40 reeks, but it will work if you cant find something better scented. -
Pull hard on it before trying to move it side to side, and follow up with what JD suggested.
