May seem like a stupid question but I will ask nevertheless...
How do I watch college football when I am at a truck stop on my break? How is the internet accessed? Do I need to buy my own mobile internet access to be able to tap into WatchESPN or do the trucking companies provide a good enough access point somehow?
I haven't got my CDL yet so the answer to this question is still vague.
Is there a trucker's primer for football season?

You get/use your own HotSpot. Truckstop wifi is to unstable for the most part to stream any football. And with your own hotspot, you can watch anywhere, your not stuck at any particular truckstop. You just have to be mindful of your data use and not rack up a huge cell bill because of data overages. Pick a large enough plan to cover it.
And no company i know of provides you with free wifi on the road. -
If you're going OTR, even with your own hotspot, you'll have trouble in some areas with a connection good enough to stream games. At that point, you'll be happy that Sirius has all the games.

I am usually running during day just because how appointments are stacked, so I can't watch my Georgia Bulldogs so I have satellite radio.
Charlami Thanks this. -
If you get your own hotspot, stick with Verizon or AT&T. They have wider coverage through the country. With Verizon I'm connect the majority of the time, but there are wide swaths of the West that might have a weak or nonexistent signal.
You can buy the NFL package to watch all your favorite teams and games.
Getting a subscription to Sirius football channels is also another good option when you drive. Just remember to keep both hands on the wheel and don't take it out on other motorists when your team plays my team.... -

There are decent little digital antennas you can watch the local networks with. Get near metropolitan areas and you can pick up 30-60 channels. It's almost like cable.
The flat RCA 12" x 12" amplified digital antenna at Wally World is a good one.
Many truckers use satellite too. If you have it at home just get another receiver for $5 more a month, get an extra dish and some creativity and you are good to go.KC63, Charlami and youngclarkh Thank this. -
