Is there a way to fill out 1 application and send to multiple companies?

The title pretty much says it. Is there an app or site where I could fill out an application and send it to more than one company? It's been done on an expediting site, so I was wondering if something similar was on here or if someone knew how to go about it.

When you call a potential employer, just ask the HR department that question and see what they say... get off your lazy arse and just complete the applications!

When you use them sites you will be bothered to hell and back. JB Hunt called me for a year straight, sometimes 3-4 times a day. I had to cuss them out for it to stop.

I know it's a hassle but don't get lazy when it comes to finding a good job. It takes work to weed out the bad.

Career Builder and Monster you can put your resume on. They produce good hits. Ten years later I'm still getting job offers from there.

I'd shy away from them places that send your application to every bad mega carrier out there. You are just a piece of meat that makes them a dollar when you do that. You want quality, not quantity.

Hey all, thanks for the replies. Even the ones who said "don't be lazy." I had thought of it as being efficient, but I can respect the thought it can come off as lazy. I wasn't aware of the people calling years later.

I've been an expediter (using my own cargo van) for about 15 years. I got the idea from a site on Expediting. I hadn't heard of any of the problems in that segment like this one. So thanks for the heads up.

A lot of companies use taleo and a couple of other websites for their on-line apps. Some of them will store your resume info and fill it in for you on every app if you sign up. There's one that's really good and for the life of me I can't remember the name of it right now, but with them you can do an app in about two minutes, once you fill in all your information. If I remember the name of the site I will edit the post. China, I know you know which site I'm talking about. It's the one that has all its apps in blue and yellow trim.

The biggest problem you have is the mom-and-pop outfits that either don't have a website or have a very rudimentary one. You either have to visit the office for an app, or download a hard copy and drop/mail/fax it. Some won't even let you scan it and send it back to them in a .pdf. You see a lot of that here in Texas with these small oilfield haulers.

I bet they miss out on a lot of good prospects by not modernizing the way they recruit. I know that I would tend to ignore a company that won't let me do the initial stuff on line or at least via phone. It's kinda like when a company will give you zero info over the phone and say, "you'll have to come in and apply before we can answer any questions". I just hang up and go to the next number.

Hey, get out of your cave and into the 21st century. We have computers to make things more efficient now. It's called "working smart."

BTW OP, if you make out a resume and cover letter on Google Drive, then Drive will fill in a lot of your basic info for you. It's not perfect; sometimes it gets jumbled and you have to re-arrange the info, but it does save time and typing.

Yeah, I looked through that site and it kinda looked like a consolidator for independent recruiters. It looks like a recruiter can subscribe to it for a fee and mine it for info. Not really the way I would want to conduct a job search.
