I am looking for something either on facebook or online somewhere that I can plot where I am at in the country day to day for my family to see. They thought it would be neat to see where I am day to day.
Is there a way to plot where you are?

Foursquare? Or Google Latitude.
Would need a Dumb err Smart Phone for both. -
would other people be able to see it too? My family all have "smart" phones

Just be careful with foursquare at least...I've seen a lot of phishing emails going out, claiming to be from them...I know, I myself have received them, and I'm not even on foursquare, so I knew they were BS!
My brother uses Yelp, if that's any help... -
If you look in the app store they have an app that can track your smartphone anytime they want to find you. I use facebook. When I stop for the night I just update it. I take pics of my loads so the kids see what I'm hauling.
indianaEMT Thanks this. -
Foursquare, definitely. Especially if you're on Facebook.

Foursquare works awesome! Just have them "friend" you on there, and they will see every place you check in. It will also show you a US map and have all the check-ins on it. I use it all the time.

If you want the exact route then look at bicycle tracking programs like Endomondo or Move. Endo can automatically upload to FB as soon as you tell it to stop recording your route.
Might not want to do that if you prefer to exceed the speed limit much. It shows your miles and average speed... heheheheee

My wife has something where we can map each other's phone at any time and it will tell us where the phone is.
Also, on the iPhone, under the "Maps" app, wherever you are, there is a dot. Touch this dot it will give you options.
ONE of those options are "Share your location". This can then be sent over a message or email.
If sent to someone on an iPhone, the receiver will receive the message, and when they click on your location, it will bring up the "Maps" AP on THEIR phone, and show them your location. -
I use Google Latitude. Only those you allow can see it. It shows your travel without having to check in.
