I'm looking for a DECENT company that will train me to drive in exchange for a contract. I went thru CRST and the 4hrs. that they had me in the truck b4 they cut me was a joke. I don't know how they expected me to be able to shift smoothly after only 4hrs. ( 1 hr. for 3 days and cut on the 4th day ) Their program is an accelerated program and a joke IMO.
So now i'm looking for a company that will train me. I have no problem giving them a year as I can't afford to pay out of pocket right now.
Help A Sister Out Plz !!!![]()

I didn't get my CDL only a class C license from IA. that is of no use to me here in IL. so now i'm stuck with only a permit that I can't use in my state. I'm just looking for a decent company that does the paid training. I come here to check out everyone I run across and they have all been garbage so far. I'm kinda spooked to go back into another accelerated program... and be cut again.

There are several companies out there that will train you to get your CDL in exchange for a year or two of involuntary servitude.
Including the one I drive for.
First check with your local state unemployment office. If you are being paid unemployment, there is a lot of government money out there that will pay for you to go thru an accredited driving school at no cost to you. Check it out.
If you are not eligible for this paid school, and there is no other way to get your CDL, then go down to your local truck stop and pick up those free driver employment magazines and read. You will find several offering what you are looking for. But read any contract carefully. They all seem to be heavily weighted towards penalties if you don't complete your end of the deal. Make sure they have to complete theirs.
i.e., you have to stay a year. Do they even have to offer you a job when you're completed?
Check out the local community colleges for courses. They are pretty cheap.
Lastly, read these board postings and ask specific questions about any company you're thinking of going to school with.
Remember, tho...these posts are opinions. What one person considers great is terrible to the next and vice versa.dakurvydiva Thanks this. -
go to the Prime Inc thread and read about theri training. You can also go to their website and get good information on how their training works. if you take their course you sign up to drive for 1 yr and if you stay for the year you won't have to pay any tuition if i read everything right.
