linehaul frequently makes those numbers on 45-50 hr. home daily, off sat/sun and no cost benefits.

To the OP... what do you want to do? To be honest, your working a job that makes decent money (depending on which part of the country your in) and gets you home every night. You can get in a workout, cook dinner, hang out with the family, drink a beer, and binge watch the trendy new show on Netflix. Do you want to leave this?

I graduated from college ten years ago and for a couple of months tried that office gig. It wasn't for me. My grandad was a truck driver and O/O forever and my dad became a truck mechanic. To me, being a white collar guy seemed weird. I know it's what dad and grandad wanted from me but I had diesel in the blood.

If you like trucks and can change your lifestyle, go for it. I've consistently been right around 100k as a local driver for a few years. But I don't work 40 a week. Try 60-70. Ask yourself why you want to do it. If your in it for the money, your setting yourself up for failure. You've gotta love it.

Well most of that return is due to being able to claim food expenses(canada) ...I think it's similar to per diem in the US...not sure though

. Being gone for a month at a time versus someone who works 40 hours a week/home daily is no comparison. If you did compare the 1k net in 40 hours to your 100k yearly staying out for 3 weeks to a month you wouldn't even be at minimum wage.

If that's net you are making close to 70k gross

Why the hell would you wanna leave?

What's the reason? Drivers are starting at .40 cents a mile. Do the math.

Not sure it's worth. Depending on age and industry you are in

You sure that's net? As in after taxes are taken out

any of the quality LTL carriers would get it done. the guys here working 52+ hours are making over 100k. and to be honest i don't think anyone here on linehaul works over 55 hrs a week unless they get stopped by a crash or something. my first year i averaged 42 hours a week and made over 70k. first year pay is a LONG way from top pay. we are non union.
