Is there any place like CRST but without the team driving aspect?

Use the search button. A few people asked a similar question. Others gave the pros and cons to all of your options.

Not many can...I sure as hell wouldn't I go insane teaming if I can't get the load there on time as a single they don't need to be shipping it...either that or they need to adjust their times.

Yes, check with Millis Transfer first. Think you need $500.00 fee; ask if that still applies.
Most companies pay for bus ticket to their school.

JBS Carriers sends you to Roadmaster CDL school.
Swift and Central Refrigerated have excellent CDL training.
Con-way Freight - opening a school in Romulus, Michigan.
Southern Refrigerated Transport - bus ticket, free hotel room, free 3 meals a day.

    PikesPeak Thanks this.

    Just an update.

Well, I talked to some lady at Millis, and she told me they aren't hiring anyone from NJ. She was very short with me but Im going with Swift anyway. I just completed some basic online CDL test with Swift, now I just have to get a CDL permit and my medical card. Once I get that stuff I can start training in Richmond, Va. The CDL permit costs $125 which kinda sucks as I have no money for it right now.

If you go to swift do your book work stay up till midnight if need be for the first couple of nights. I went to swift Va and just got my cdl this week, so it can be done if you try. I was the worst in my class when we started driving but never gave up or let it drag me down. In the end under half the class finnished and some are still there.

The don't even pay for that. You make less per mile for that 8 months than someone who got the CDL on their own. And it was a big difference, I think about 8cpm and then gradually went down. No matter what, you pay them back the $5k.

It probably boils down to minimum wage. Since their state says they have to pay it.
