I'm two weeks from graduating a well known school in the Florida panhandle. The experience so far has been outstanding. I've applied to two companies with one rejecting me for two lifetime DUI's. I completely understand how important it is to be honest, so please set me straight. Honestly, I have DUI in Louisiana 86, (2)Louisiana/Ohio 95 and one in Indiana 2001. Can I expunge these then continue with my job search or am I done?

I'm almost positive that those are staying on your florida record.

If you find a way to have them removed,

    please post that info.

dave, you cannot get anything expunged once you had even applied and then got your CDL permit. the time to have tried to do that would have been BEFORE you even signed on the dotted line at the school.

as typical as some CDL schools are, they lacked in their responsibility to point things out to you.

ok so now that is a done deal.

what you have to do is look for companies that have a time limit on such offenses, and go from there.

from 2001 to now there is a 8 year time frame. will that be enough..?? maybe so, maybe not. but you already invested time in school and such, so just "hit the bricks" and knock on some doors. try ANY small company in your area, stay away from "the big guys"....try trash hauling, milk delivery, dump, recycling, in other words, try Class B jobs first.. then once hired, for the sake of god and all that's holy, stay clean...

best of luck, it will be hard, but don't give up yet.

    update to your added content...

ok see now, you left out they were in different states...Dave, if you want help, you gotta give details...

go and get a copy of your FLORIDA DMV record and see what it ACTUALLY SAYS....

if these happened on a regular car license (and they did) then you have a chance that they did not even show up when you finally switched over to Florida...

i will not change my quoting of your first posting, as that was what i was responding to..

    So is that 4 DUI's? (86, 95, 95, 01)?

The last one is 10 years old...so you MIGHT find a company or two willing to hire you. However, you are competing for available jobs against people who have never in their life had a DUI....meanwhile, you've had multiple DUI's.

So while you MIGHT find a job in this industry, those jobs will be few and far between.

after this major snafu, I feel like I'm back in the 70's. Moving forward, I understand the 8 year time frame, we are in 2011 so I might be good by 2 years. But honesty at this level is pure suicide...or is it?

Yes sir, these were in a regular car. I have lived here in Florida for almost 6 years this August. When I went for my 3 year driving record for school, nothing at all was on my record. I guess I can check Monday for my lifetime report. I have not yet received my hard copy CDL just yet, I only have the learner's permit. I was waiting on funds and to take HAZMAT before getting the hard copy CDL. Does this change anything? Thanks
