Those rules apply after he becomes a cdl holder, right ?

He can have 6 convictions on his regular license BEFORE he obtains his cdl.

After he gets his cdl, of course all violations count, regardless of vehicle driven.

That's what we were talking about today. Just let me prove myself to be worthy of safe CDL driving and IF I screw up, throw the book at me. I should at least have a shot, right? I really need this!

Nothing personal against you but i think you have had your shot already and you blew it. IMO one screw up deserves a second chance, after 3 your now on your 4th chance. Sorry but sometimes you have to suffer long term consequences for your actions and I feel that anybody that screws up that many times deserves no more chances. But that's JMO and lucky for you it's not up to me.

That is part of the problem in this country these days, nobody is held accountable for what they do and their own actions.

it does indeed specify a holder of a CDL...

now, maybe from one's state they have rules for lifetime bans on regular license holders, this we may not know per each state.

but the DOT section clearly does state CDL....

I truly respect your views and you're right...but dang~! i wasn't a cdl driver at the time. I'm sleeping in a tent for 8 weeks in 100+ degree weather. Doesn't that count for dedication to the biz. Shouldn't I be given a shot a cdl at this stage of my life? Can't forgive the non cdl past?
