Is there any way to strap a motorcycle between a tractor trailer and truck?

I saw a driver a couple of years ago who had a motorcycle strapped on his catwalk. I didn't see exactly how he had it secured. It was a fairly good size bike. I don't know how he would have been able to get it up and off of the catwalk without some sort of ramp. I have also seen a few who have had them on a flatbed or step deck. I even recall seeing one guy who pulled HHG who had a small compartment on his trailer where he could stow his bike when on the road. He had a ramp that enabled him to get the motorcycle in and out of the trailer.

I carried my 1600 vulcan behind my cab last year. Yes the bike you see in my avatar. Built a sissor lift to put it up and down. Only got stop once from Tenn. and he admited only stoped me to take a picture for his buddy. Never gave me a ticket, warning or even a hard time. Actually thanked me for my time.
A company in Calf. now makes a sissor lift for the same purpose.
I've also seen another truck doing the same thing.
If I knew how to downsize my pictures, I'd put them on here showing how well the sissor lift worked. Maybe somebody will pm me to do this for me.

The company in Calif. is Rampage. Look up rampagelife.com on the internet.
A better company in Wi. is Discountramps.com/power-lift-motorcycle-ramp.htm
I modified one similiar to theirs and it worked great. Had a electic winch on it which is too fast for my preference. If I build another, it'll be hand winch.
I was able to load or unload in just a couple of minutes. Though it always got attention at the truck stops.

I use a Coleman sleeping bag as my 'sheet'.

Guessing they wouldn't like that very much?

Not a stupid question. I have been thinking the same thing over and over again. I also ride a motorcycle but I was even thinking like a bicycle with a little gas engine or even a collapsible bike for all that downtime truckers get.

I'm thinking about getting a small scooter to put on my catwalk. They only weigh around 150 pounds and would just take a light weight aluminum ramp to walk them up on the back of the truck.

I have seen motorcycles straped on the trucks, so it can be done.

Most guys in my company have their unloading hose rolled and strapped down on the catwalk with a bungee. I use 3 all criss crossing so every angle is covered.

I've also been through DOT scale houses, and emissions inspection and nobody ever said anything...
