So you need a lawyer for job hunting? I'm guessing there is some back story to that.
This isn't the best time to be job hunting in many areas of employment. There is no trucker shortage, contrary to what some say. There are fewer loads these days due to many factors, so there are too many drivers that want jobs. And there are more trying to break in to the industry every day.
If you gave some of that back story, your history, some people like Chinatown and others might be able to steer you in the right direction.tscottme, lual, The_vett and 1 other person Thank this. -
The Father, Son, and the Wholly Ghost, they caught the last train for the coast,,,9 out of 10, you say? Hmm, that's impressive again your favor, I guess I'm curious who the 1 of the 10 was? It's a lonely world, dear, and this machine I'm typing on hasn't helped. In fact, it's made it worse. The good news is, you're among friends here, and plenty of opportunities, but will take time. In this "instant gratification" world we live in today, it's understandable to want it yesterday. You can do that, but results are usually poor. I think with holidays coming up, freight, especially package stuff is pretty big, but falls off after the 1st, and you may be back at ground zero until Spring. I agree, the "attorney" thing is a major red flag, and prospective companies get a whiff of that, and it WILL go on your record, chances are even worse. As mentioned, good drivers with spotless records can't find work, mostly because the good jobs, the drivers never leave. You know what that leaves? Good luck, doesn't look good.

I knew if I had my chance That I could make those people dance And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while.....Great song!
I was thinking if the OP has not heard anything from anyone......it could be something going on with your phone or w/e is used for communication. So check that out.
OP, I would not let the machines stop me, If I were looking for employment, I would be ready and out there... I would go straight to the place and introduce myself, take it from there. Because everything and everybody is out there. You need to get out ...see people.... be seen....I guarantee you won't get anything or do anything sitting inside wondering where and what the rest of the world is doing. I too wish you luck !!201 Thanks this. -
Hello, is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me, is there anyone at home?
BINGO! I agree, go in person to these places, you may not get past the HR person, but it shows you have initiative. I've gotten a couple jobs by just seeing a truck in a dock, and went in and said, "are you looking for a driver"? You'd be surprised how many times that works.
Miss_Jennifer_Jo, Numb and The_vett Thank this. -
Can anybody hear me , is there anyone at all?
-
I was totally unprepared for what that movie was about,,
The_vett and Trucker61016 Thank this. -
Just nod if you can hear me.............Oh that line has been said.
What movie is it you were unprepared for? I don't know it, at least not at the moment.
I am not surprised that you were hired by just walking into a place and applying on the spot. It tells the employer , this person is really interested in working here, is eager and is self propelled.
All good things a prospective employer likes to see in an employee.Last edited: Sep 22, 2025
