Is there anyone starting crst training in riverside in June

What you are forgetting is that no one on here started anywhere. They just became season vets overnight. Just ask them. Look, we all started somewhere and had to get experience somewhere no matter what the super truckers tell you. Are there better than CRST? Sure. Are there worse? Maybe Swift and Werner. If CRST is your only option and that is what you want to do. Go for it. You have to start somewhere. Get your foot in the door. Stay for two years if you can, but at least one. Stay safe and ask questions. Even if you have to ask here.

 

You are saying nobody will hire you cause you live in san diego? I dont think your trying hard enough. Should be lots of companies will take a look at you.

 

I keep getting the same thing from the recruiters were not hiring in you're area, clean background and clean driving record. My work history might be the reason

 

I started at CRE in 2005. Paid $1500 up front for the school, didn't go into debt. Did 3 months and went to JB Hunt, and it was night and day better.
They viewed me as solo qualified driver. Everyone is going to view your time at CRST as a co driver, cause the only run team. Get it? Go to a school, get your license, and you can go to work for a whole bunch of companies that have a much better path.
There are LOTS of places start, the OP is choosing the worst one.

 

Why look for work on San Diego when planning to move to Texas?

Do you guys not know how to beat the bushes to find work?

Recruiter schmooter. Do you have a license? Go find a job. If you want to work for no money, being as close as you are to Mexico, there are plenty of smaller local companies that will hire you for a clean CDL and your mastery of English.

"But Six, I need training."

There should be some local produce trucks that run back and forth from your area to Hunts Point, NY.

 

Obviously I don't have a cdl that's why I'm going company sponsored training, do you know the cost of living out here?
I didn't post this for opinions.
I wanted to find people going to the school that's it.
Before you comment read the previous post, it clearly states this is for experience. I'm not in position to where I can just drop a couple grand for school and still survive. This is for my cdl license then like every other rookie in the industry that's how other opportunities open up. I understand what I'm getting into so don't worry about it

 

Without experience I'm pretty sure no ones going to hire me unless I pay for school or go to a company sign the contract and man up. I'm focusing on my future not right now

 

There's swift and prime. Both train and hire out of San Diego. Swift even had a drop yard in Otay mesa. Both a better choices than crst.

You said you want to build for your future, crst is only going to hurt it.

 

You said you don't care about the money starting out right? I just did some research and found that Old Dominion has a terminal in San Diego. Before going to CRST I'd at least call them and ask if they're hiring. Even if it's starting out on the dock. They're a nationwide company so you can transfer if you move to Texas. That's a place you can build a career at.

BTW, why do you want to move out of So-Cal? It's gorgeous there.

 

My 2 cents: I did my training at CR England. I am currently a trainer at CRST. My advice would be CRE for training (they only required a 9 month commitment as of Dec. 2014), then move on to greener pastures.

CRE is a hell of a lot more organized, the people are nicer and it's generally a better place to work than CRST.
