Sorry it's been a while, but I thought I'd give you an update. These incidents are now two years old and I found a job as a yard jockey, however I fear for my own safety at this job because the other yard jockey drive so recklessly. When I back up, they have a habit of trying to "sneak behind me." The speed limit is 15 mph, but the other drivers speed along at 40 mph. (I remember my trainer warning me about yard drivers when I was starting out.)
Now, these other driver are such ########! One of them almost slammed into me one night, then he told my boss I almost hit him. That same night, he tried to sneak past me from behind while I was trying to back a trailer into a dock, then he tells the boss I almost hit him, getting me sent to the office. That same night, I was accused of running the stop signs on several occasions and was speeding. In my mind, I was thinking, "you ########!" "You nearly hit me, then you tell the boss the opposite is true." I've never ran a stop sign in my life and I've never sped in a tractor trailer, so those accusations are an insult to me! My boss won't believe me because the other drivers have been there longer. The next day, I was backing a trailer to the dock and got an accusation that I hit the adjacent trailer. I didn't see any damage to either the trailer I was pulling or the adjacent ones. (Not even a scratch) But the boss decided to "punish me" by making me work in the warehouse. (I was pissed off, to say the least!) I found the coworker that accused me and told him off!
Anyway, the next day, they let me back on the truck. This time, I got serious! Every trailer I hitched to AND their adjacent trailers were filmed and photographed from every angle possible BEFORE I attach to it, before I back into a space / dock and after I backed into a space / dock. After the first trailer, they sent me back to the warehouse to work. Probably because filming and photographing the trailer and its adjacent trailers from every angle possible prior to hooking up, prior to backing up and after backing up makes each move take a lot longer. Either way, if this keeps up, I'm gonna have to quit!
Is there anyone who'll hire me with three accidents on my record that are a year old?

No security cameras around?
-
There is a common theme to this thread...
The other drivers do this, and I have no control/responsibility whatsoever....because it's them, and not me.
I'd guess OP should get out of truck, because crap happens everyday.
It's how you react to situations that arise. -
There are security cameras around, but they still have no idea I did not run those stop signs, I wasn't speeding and I didn't hit that trailer. Either way, I'm buying a dash cam to put in the truck, so next time someone accuses me of something, I'll have proof I didn't do it. I also started photographing every trailer I ever touch before and after I move it, so they can't say I damaged it.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
"The other drivers do this, and I have no control/responsibility whatsoever" Well, what do you suggest I do? I can't force the other drivers from driving recklessly. I can't make my boss believe me. That's why I have to photograph every single trailer before and after I move it. That's why I have to buy a dashcam to put in the truck. If they don't put me back in that truck soon, I'm gonna have to quit.

To be honest, I'm worried one of those other drivers might hit me if I stay there, so I'm trying to get another job.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Seems like a validation thread to me.

Either you're terrible picking jobs, or you are one that can't keep a job.
Sometimes...you gotta take a look in the mirror -
"Sometimes...you gotta take a look in the mirror" I get what you're saying, but how can you justify these co-workers falsely accusing me of damaging equipment, then sending me to work at the warehouse as "punishment"? Please explain how this makes sense. I feel like I'm missing something...
