I work for one of the LTL carriers(hint: not the green one) and I have without a doubt the worst tractor in our fleet, incredibly small, and it doesn’t have air ride, only springs. When I hit a bump, it shakes the entire thing back and forth, slamming my knees into the dash(the seat is all the way back), and my back into the cab

I would like my career with this company to last me until retirement, which if they keep me in this tractor, won’t be too long from now

I’ve asked for another tractor multiple times, but to no avail

The other tractors that we have that don’t have air ride don’t ride nearly as bad as this one does

Tell them the truck is causeing bruses on your legs and you will need to start looking for a new job if they dont reassign you to a better unit. If yiur a good experinced driver they will typically put someone on the ####list in your rig and move you to a better one if they have any open.

Or tell them you've been injured in the tractor and would like to initiate a workmans comp claim.

Spring ride on a short wheel base. And people said the 80s we're gone for good:D

How many miles on it? Probably loose as a goose back there

Maybe they will compromise and get you a nice comfy seat? That’s what I did. I am 6’5” and have to cram into an International daycab. The cheap factory seat was hell on my back and legs. Got a nice leather one for just under a grand of the company’s money. Helped immensely.

The truck says it has 305000 on it, but I guarantee it’s been rolled over

when talking trucks, please refrain from saying "rollover"

instead, say something like, "i'm sure there are more miles than that on the clock".

    homeskillet and Val_Caldera Thank this.

Aw, quityerbitchin',,welcome to our world,,just kidding, my 1st truck, a Mack, I swear rode rougher on a Monday than a Friday. I know, may seem like a step backwards, but couple that to a small motor, wedge brakes, manual steering, and tube tires, spring ride should be the least of your concerns. For the record, I found, the more you ask, the less they hear. If it's that big an issue, tell them you are going to quit, it's a drivers market, and they know it. Good luck, pal,,
