Is there anything I can do to make my tractor more comfortable?

Can't be much worse than the Ford L8000 I started in. Single axle, no air ride anything. Had a seat with no suspension of any kind. No A/C, no radio. Just the sound of that little 8.3 liter Cummins screaming mercilessly for a break at 60 mph. Oh and a 1974 spring ride trailer to match it. But hey, at 18 years old, I thought I was in hog heaven!

Believe it or not, sometimes I long for those days again. Home everyday by 6pm, Saturday by noon. Had money to burn and the girls were pretty.

Geez I sound like Hank Jr.

Nowadays the interest is up, the stock market's down and you gonna get mugged if ya go downtown.

Seen new USF Holland with new pete daycabs. Back to single drive air tag tandem the other day. They were one using them forever. They seemed to get away from them. Now back to them. Didnt get close to see if it was a old neway like past years. But it had propar/or PT axles stubs.

The purple cushion is what is saving my back and legs. It is a bit costly however it has made a world of difference

I agree, in the day of air ride, someone that still runs a spring ride tractor is horribly out of date. I bet if I looked at this persons truck, I almost guarantee there will be a broken leaf, and a big deal to replace. Air ride is so much simpler. I think a spring ride gives a better feeling of the road, like every tar strip, but air ride far exceeds springs, and makes you wonder what else they are scrimping on.
In all honesty, most of those Louisvilles had NeWay air ride, and was a poor setup, I almost preferred a spring, but with todays modern air rides, there's no excuse.

I Drove 4 random times (3 times in the same Truck) ONCE in a "newer version" [see below] with this company through TRANSFORCE CDL Driver Service. Gig Paid $13.00 hour, and went up to an astounding $14.00 hourly after I departed.
ALL TRUCKS were From the Mid 80's and with the exception of 3 or 4 AirRide Tractors, for the FEW l-o-n-g term employees, everyone else rode in SPRING RIDE Daycabs which were 10 speed Manual.
4 separate Trips were a wonderful BEATING that a sadist or masochist would have, most likely, enjoyed.
Slide Seats helped the BEATINGS, but no chance were they "locked in" to prevent sliding.
The Type of company that started at 06:00 and used ALL YER TIME to get back to base and wondered why I didn't want a daily dose.
The BEST PART was they had ONE PHONE LINE in so "waiting on dispatch" was ever so much more pleasant, reminiscent of earlier Years with Long Haul Larger Carriers When We Were Using Pay Phones.
