Is there money in local work being an O/O?

What type of equipment and where are you located?

 

We have a new account in Chicago delivering buns to fast food restaurants that's supposed to be paying over 90k a year for company drivers with a 10k bonus, there so hard up for drivers there even giving a 5k bonus to anybody that finds a driver for that account. Thy also have a new beer run out of Milwaukee down to IL there needing drivers for. Home every night but i'm not sure thy take O/O on those accounts. Give NFI a call, i'm an O/O with them and thy got all kinds of accounts open for company drivers and O/O.

 

Yes there is money to be made for somebody who is willing to hustle. Until I let a driver go earlier this week, I was going to have him do local Toledo Ohio with my flatbed.
Be ready to put in 15-hour days every day. Let me answer to your question. Yeah, you can make some money. Doing it right there's no reason you should not be able to gross at least $260 to $280,000 a year. But like I said you got to hustle and you've got to be the smart.

Truck driver or business person ? If your a business person the answer is yes , if your a driver maybe not.

If you're on ELD charge for your time or you're not going to make anything. Even on paper logs same applies. If it is regular freight and you're depending on brokers.... Have fun with that cheap ####. There's lots of local loads running 100 miles paying $400-$500. You'll lose money on them. Guys will say but, but, but, if, if, if... Reality is most times nothing goes right with that freight and those loads are just losers wasting precious time. I always said if "if's" and "but's" were candies and nuts it'd be Christmas every day. But it ain't.

Menard's is dirt cheap. Hard to believe they get anyone to haul their stuff and people are knocking down the doors to do it. But they sponsor nascar and I'm a fan so its probably a good thing too.
