thats for dang sure and at the TS its about $3.50 fee plus the Fee your bank it going to charge you too...so it could cost up to $5.00 per ATM transaction so if you do use it make it worth it...dont just get a $20.00 spot out go ahead and get at a minimum $100.00

My bank gives me a refund when I have to use out of network ATMs.

Banks.......at least some are trying to retain your business locally instead of you going with a different Nationwide coverage bank.

U could jus use ur back check card and purchase items from the stores instead of withdrawing money from diff atm's. That's all I do , as long as ur card has a visa or master card logo on it then u can use it.

    otismyman Thanks this.

don't change banks just for this. look at the back or your ATM card. you might already be in a network, usually Cirrus or something like that. also as someone said, you can pay by debit card and they will ask you if you want cash also. there may not be any fee's charged to you then....but this i cannot confirm. be sure to save ALL your receipts.

ask your bank too what they charge you, if you use an out of network card. hey in fact, maybe they can switch you to a network card better than what you have right now...??? it don't cost you anything to walk in and talk with someone....

    I agree.

Most banks have more than one option for using a debit card.

I use E-trade checking. ATM fee refund, and transfer to my local bank accout is relatively quick. Used to have good APY, but it's sucky right now as the Fed is deliberately keeping the interest low.

They charge $15 monthly fee if your monthly average balance is below $5k though, so it may not be a good choice until you have enough savings.

Charles Schwab offers similar checking account if I'm not mistaken.

Hubby and I aren't on the road yet - but we use a Credit Union - they have 'sister branches' nation wide - also they have the deposit to where you just scan in the check from your home/laptop (front and back) and that deposits it. For cash - just use the VISA/DEBIT card and get extra cash out using the debit side of the card. At least that's how we plan on doing it - now to see if that works when we get out there - LOL!
