If you can qualify for USAA Federal Savings Bank (USAA FSB or commonly just called USAA) (ex military usually, but they have opened up to SOME other groups recently)), they reimburse you for ALL ATM fees (up to 35$ a month I think)...and don't charge you to use anybody's else ATM's...and if you use direct deposit, a checking account is FREE..fees, if you ever do get charged are very reasonable.
You can check all balances online, or by phone, and they even have smart-Phone apps that let you take a picture of a check..then THROW IT OUT (must be pre-qualified...can also use a scanner!!!! They also give you pre-paid mailers for checks if you want to do deposits that way...Great for living on the road...have been using them for about 15 years, and HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A BRANCH!!
They are customer owned...and at the end of the year, PAY YOU a share of their profits!! Great company...I have many products, Banking, credit Cards, Insurance, all through them...if you qualify, they are great! -
Now a days every bank out there you can go on line and do what you need to do. Just do NOT use a WIFI site to do so! That's a good way to spend a few hundred hours on the phone to clean up your credit from Identity Theft!
A GOOD company will deposit your checks on time by direct deposit. A GOOD one I said! Those companies who can put your pay on that Comm Data Card let you pay those stupid costs!
ATM's are getting too costly! PERIOD!
I stay away from them unless it's MY bank. But trying to get to "your" bank in BFE is way to hard and time consuming to save a few dollars!
You do have nation wide banks to choose from but where you usually stop at are truck stops and there is NOT a thing in a single one that they will not make something off of! SO DO NOT expect to get your money out of that CommData" owned ATM and not pay dearly for it!
There is NO reason anymore to have a wad of cash in your pocket that you can't use a card for!
Use your debit card as mentioned and then draw some cash. I did my weekly "allowance" from either home when the wife handed me "MY" part of MY check or I'd stop at Wally's place and stock up on supplies and get my allowance and not pay a thing!
The banking system hasn't failed yet and it really does not look like it ever will if we can keep morons who freaking panic when other morons fly aircraft into buildings away from decision making prositions in the banking system and the gooberment!otismyman Thanks this. -

Yeah the tab banks are at the flyinJ and they do not charge to take out money. We used tab and they were great. You can get your money automatically deposited in there or just part of it and the other part in your regular bank account. Look it up on the Pilot/flyin J website. It should have all the info on there.

Going to a nationwide bank is redundant as you can't get the truck near the bank. Most ATM's are thrid party you deal with. It's best to do debit card transactions and do cash back to have some pocket change. ATM's are rip offs anymore.

One really good thing about the TAB bank is that they know you are a trucker. When we first went over the road we were a team and covered a lot of ground. Well the bank kept shutting off our card because there were purchases from all across the country in a short amount of time. It was such a pain in the butt to explain it to them and get it turned back on once a week! One thing about making those kinds of phone calls is you are put on hold forever and while you are driving you go in and out of cell phone reception. Never failed as soon as your number was up and they answered the phone would cut out! Anyway go with the TAB its a pretty good deal. Plus there aren't ATM fees at the pilots. Go to the website and there should be all the info on there. It's best if you can get all your bonus cards and bank stuff down and issued to you before you go on the road. Like your pilot card, TA card, etc... That way you have it ready to go and won't be paying for showers until you get home and get your cards in the mail. You can have your pay directly deposited onto the card or you can have just part of it put in there and the rest go to your home bank. Saves a lot of money in ATM fees. Plus they are twice the price at the truck stops and over the road! Hope this helps you guys!
