Is there really a provision in the Fed Regs that drivers must speak and read English?

It's not just the guys on 54, you'll hear that stuff pretty much anywhere in the state, but the largest concentration does seem to be in the SE part of the state. Big reason for that is because of all the oil field work out there in the Permian Basin area. That's also the area with the highest OOS violation rate, highest motor vehicle crash rate, and highest fatality rate for CMV's.

I don't know if it is here in Canada, but as someone trying to get a good gig as a driver right now, (not a new driver, just took a break and went back to my "other" trade for a bit)it should be. Half the time on the phone I can't even understand them. The few I've been able to wanted me ro grab loads that night without so much as a road test or even asking about, let alone seeing my deiving record. And trying to talk to fellow drivers up here, good luck. Im all about multiculturalism but come on....
