hi i have been using a sprint hot spot mifi for over 5 years and couldnt be more happier, personally will recommend for every driver , it works everywhere in radius from new england to florida, from florida to texas and texas to minnesota, love this service ...cost me 59.99$ /month for unlimited data ( only 3g ), fast enough to being logged to skype and play internet radio or browse web at the same time, also have smartphone from sprint on android platform (rooted) what gives me hot spot from my phone for free (also unlimited and 4g when avilable ) :)))), have already 3 devices connected ,laptop ,ipad and wii console no problem at all.......problem with phone hot spot is when you need to make a call your internet will disconnect and when somone try to rich you it put his call to your voicemail automaticly (some phone show you incoming call and some doesnt).....make a choice

You dont need to hold the iphone or laptop in your hand while driving. You turn it on and thats it. Its like driving when using blu-tooth headset. You guys are over thinking this, lol Other than my 3GB i have with AT&T on my iphone i was only asking if there is a "On the go" internet that i can connect a wifi device to it while in motion. No its not a safety issue, its hands free, only difference between blu-tooth headset is my kids can see me while i am driving as i talk to them while the iphone or laptop is on a holding device.

I can see it, Skype yourself out but don't look at your phone or whatever...... but then what's the point? Just use like a regular phone and save data time for when you can actually look at it.

If you're not under contract .. you may look at millenicom dot com. No contract, bring your verizon device or buy their reasonably priced devices, $70/20gb

the belief that one would turn on skype and not look at it just have people look at it from the other end is unrealistic
    then it is a distraction
    please dont drive near me

I have a dashboard cell phone holder while I am driving and use Tango to video chat with the family while driving. I have a droid DNA with 16GB data plan. I use the camera on the back of phone so my family can see the road ahead of me while I talk with them through the speaker phone. Also I have the audio connected to my speakers in truck so it sounds like they are inside the cab with me.
