i don't pay to play. other then the usual standard fees. i don't pay extra to tether my phone. V can kiss my butt. and i won't buy a hot spot when my phone is my hot spot.

you can surf while moving down the road. i was one of the first guys to ever tether there phone. LONG before todays tech came about. i had sprint who was the first with the capabilities. using AOL as my dialup tether. then sprint came out with there own dialup. it was no easy task 12 years ago. and the speed was equivalent to dial up. but it worked. then sprint came out with the first air card. and here we are today.

today shouldn't be any different then 12 years ago.

There is NO safety issue here. Only sounds like you can't chew gum while walking. Hands free talking is not a distraction for me and many others, some can do it safely and other have no common sense or coordination. Holding a phone to your ear is a distraction that's why there is a law of no handheld devices, hands free only. Hands free cant be all that much of a distraction if that hasn't been ban. As far as making short videos I have a GoPro I will be taking long videos with and when stopped for the night edit them videos and put them on my Facebook. Now you say take small video clips, tell me that is not a distraction.

I had a dial up modem card that attached to my Bellsouth Mobility Nokia 6161 in 2000. AOL at 2 kbps BABY!!!! To the youngsters here, that is the equivalent of the old modem phone cradles you can see in the movie Wargames. I thought I was hot s### when I got a Moto phone that tethered directly by USB and had Verizon provided broadband in 2003.

transam pete: There really is no reason to talk to other drivers with that condescending attitude. I think were here to help each other and not talk down to drivers that are simply asking questions and commenting on things.

No one said using Skype on 2 way video. I did say so my kids can SEE ME not me seeing them only talking, like Blu tooth it's hands free no screen to even look at. I don't know maybe some people don't understand how Skype can be set up. Or maybe some people have family they don't want to communicate with or want to even be home. I am not and will not be a hazard on the road. It's more distracting when you are reaching over for your coffee while driving. Just sayin

Also I am needing a good wifi so while on my 10hr break I can edit my GoPro Cam videos. How reliable and fast are the truck stop ones?
