Under the 5th wheel is the worst spot. I've seen trucks that the 5th wheel was all that was holding the frame together.
Dino soar Thanks this. -
they are just time consuming, other then that it’s just big nuts and bolts. Also if you send your old rails out they will mirror them and punch all the holes out which saves a ton of time over drilling them out201 Thanks this.

Haha true story I bought a volvo with an isx for 9 k thought it was a deal with an isx that sounded like an injector .....nope dragged it to my shop when they popped the top the response was this truck is blessed it's running with no rockers and I think the estimate on the engine was 20k plus ....I stripped what I could and called van der haag's that cheap truck is now for sale in pieces and I only buy things I know more about lol

If you were just messing around I'd say go for it. I've blown that much on a lot less. But if its something you wanna try and make your start in I'd get something in a lot better shape. The rust looks like its just surface rust on the frame from what I can see. Sand it and paint it

Transmission alone would disqualify it from consideration IMO but that thing looks like it’s about ready for the scrap yard anyway.
