Wiley is very much alive. Currently they have about 700 trucks on the road. The company is different from many of the major carriers. They run their equipment into the millions of miles rather than getting rid of them at the end of the warranty. Most of the equipment is KW and pretty well maintained. They have quite a bit of their own freight as Sanders has a large lead smelter in Troy, AL as well as a plastic recycling company (KW Plastics). Most of their freight is dry van but they do have a bulk division also. They don't pay as much as some, but give you a lot of freedom and very little hassle. They also are now allowing Owner Operators into they system. I have been driving for them the past two years right after I got out of driver school. I average about 2000 to 2500 miles a week, get home when I need to and sometimes more often. This past three weeks have managed to be home every weekend and still made 2500 miles. If you are a new driver, it is a good place to start as they are pretty lenient with their new drivers.
