That trooper did a couple of tests during the SFST that we were not taught when I was in the academy down here in Texas. I'm not saying he's wrong for doing them, just that this is the first time I've ever even heard of those two tests much less seen them performed. Also, he seemed to be moving his finger rather quickly at the beginning of the HGN test, I don't see how he could check for smooth tracking at that speed. IIRC we were taught that it should take approximately 3 seconds to go from center to maximum deviation. But he did a fine job administering the walk-and-turn test, and overall his conduct was fair and professional.

It as because he skipped his ateral. That medicine slow you down. I can always tell when my cousin skips his. Plus no jaw tweaking.
